Archived: Two Albany Teenagers Admit To Firing The Bridge Along Lake Wobegon Saturday

Two Albany teenagers admit to be responsible for setting a bridge along Lake Wobegon on fire.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies interviewed two 14-year-old and 16-year-old teenagers about the fire. They admitted they damaged the bridge east of Albany at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The bridge was closed temporarily, but official reopened it Monday after inspectors from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources determined that it was safe for people to use.

The teenagers were released back to the custody of their parents. The sheriff’s office will send the case to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office to review charges.
