An 80-year-old driver was seriously injured after his car was hit by a semi-truck and rolled into the ditch near Long Prairie.

The State Patrol says Eugene Yarke from Sauk Centre was driving south on Highway 71, when he crossed the center line to turn left into a gas station. He turned in front of the northbound semi-truck driven by 51-year-old Juan Hernandez Mendoza from Long Prairie. The semi hit Yarke’s car causing it to roll.

Yarke has serious injuries while Mendoza was not injured.
