St. Cloud State University is hosting a one-day statewide math contest consisting of about 2,000 students from grades 7-12.

SCSU has been hosting the contest since 1968 making it the 49th Annual Math Contest.

The top 15 percent of students in their grade level are selected by teachers to compete in this competition, recognizing the students’ academic achievements while representing their school.

The contest is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology. The event will take place on the SCSU campus Thursday.
