Governor Mark Dayton will attend the Somali Cultural Night hosted by St. Cloud State University Saturday.

The SCSU Somali Student Association will organize their ninth annual Somali Night “A Night to Remember” Saturday, April 2. The association’s president, Aziza Mohamed, invited Dayton when he attended the NAACP Community Conversation at the St. Cloud Public Library in 2015.

The event will begin with brief remarks from Governor Dayton. Participants will then enjoy traditional dances, poems and a fashion show. There will also be speeches and a talent show prepared by the Minnesota’s Somali Community.

Events such as this help connect the Somali and the Greater St. Cloud communities. It will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom. Tickets are available for $12 for the public and $10 for students.
