Dan Wolgamott began his bid for Minnesota State Senate last year. On Saturday he was unanimously endorsed by Senate District 14 DFL at the endorsing convention held in St. Cloud.

Wolgamott says he received support from more than two dozen volunteers, including past elected officials, to answer questions and rally support from convention-goers. He has raised more than $28,000 for his campaign.

In the November election Wolgamott will face Republican Jerry Relph for the open seat, held by Sen. John Pederson. Relph is a former attorney and small businessman who announced his candidacy earlier this year.

Pederson announced he is not running for re-election.

District 14 covers St. Cloud, Waite Park, St. Augusta, and Minden and Haven Townships.
