Archived: Driver Hospitalized After Being Thrown Into The Ditch During A Three-Car Crash Friday Night
A multiple car crash on the Sauk River Bridge caused one person to be ejected from a car Friday around 9:30 p.m.
Deputies report 17-year-old Autumn Saxon was driving her car west bound on County Road 75 when she lost control and spun across the median. She struck an east bound vehicle driven by 32-year-old Kyle Knutson. Saxon’s car then continued to spin and collided with the front driver’s side of a third car, driven by 35-year-old Jeffery Bursch, trapping him and his passengers. Saxon was thrown into the ditch.
After the accident a passerby found Saxon on the west end of the bridge. Officers were able to free Bursch and his passengers. Police say all parties were taken to the St. Cloud ER for non-life threatening injuries.
County road 75 was temporarily shut down because of the crash. Icy road conditions are believed to be the main cause. The Stearns County Highway Department was called and asked to salt the bridge.
