St. Cloud State University is inviting a Methodist clergyman from Belfast to speak on campus next week about the role of memory in reconciliation.

Rev. Dr. Gary Mason is well-known for playing an important role in the Northern Ireland peace process. He is the founding director of Rethinking Conflict, a non-profit working toward peacebuilding and conflict transformation.

While in Minnesota, Mason will speak at three universities. His first stop is St. Cloud State.

The presentation is free and open to the public, and will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Brown Hall.

Mason will also speak at St. John’s University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and at Hamline on Thursday, March 17 at 4:15 p.m.
