St. Cloud State University’s Information Technology Security program has won first place in the 2016 Minnesota Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition in Minnesota.

Team Advisor, Tirthankar Ghosh, says SCSU competed in a day-long battle against six two-year colleges and three universities. Metropolitan State University came in the second place and Minnesota State University of Mankato took the third place. St. Cloud State previously won first place in 2011 and 2012.

Ghosh says students not only learn about cyber-attacks, but they also satisfy business needs in information technology working environments.

The top three teams will be recognized at the Secure 360 Conference in May in St. Paul.
