Archived: St. Cloud Polar Plunge Raises More Than $91,000 This Year

Polar plungers raised thousands of dollars for a special cause by jumping into Pleasant Lake in late February.

Taylor Dale is the Marketing and Communications Specialist for the St. Cloud Polar Plunge. She says this year’s icy plunge raised more than $91,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota. The money will be used to help athletes train, compete and transform themselves.

The event took place February 20 at The Water’s Edge in St. Cloud. Five-hundred thirty people braved the freezing water and took the plunge.

An estimated 8,100 athletes will benefit.
