The results are in and according to the 2015 St. Cloud State University statewide survey a majority of Minnesotans know someone with a disability and believe the Americans with Disabilities Act has been beneficial to them.

For the past 35 years SCSU Survey has been conducting a state wide research asking questions about relevant political and social issues. This year they asked some questions to gauge how Minnesotans viewed the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the survey, two third of Minnesotans are somewhat familiar with ADA. 68 percent know someone well who has a disability. 76 percent believed that ADA has been successful and 64 percent believe the law has helped reduce discrimination of people with a disability. They also found that middle age and older Minnesotans were more familiar with ADA than young adults.

The SCSU Survey is led by a team of faculty and student directors who design the question then analyze the results. The responses were taken from 623 randomly selected landlines and cellphones from October 12-22.
