An 87-year-old St. Cloud man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a collision in the north side of the city.

St. Cloud Police Assistant Chief Jeff Oxton says Hubert Alphonse Dombrovski was driving northbound in the 1100 block of 33rd Avenue North around 12:30 p.m. Monday when he went through the red light at the intersection with 12th Street North.

He hit a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Dennis Jan Cook from Avon, who was heading westbound on 12th Street. Cook’s vehicle rolled over onto its side.

Dombrovski did not have his seat belt on at the time of the accident and suffered substantial injuries. He was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. Cook received minor injuries, but did not need any medical help.
