Archived: Clara City Man Hospitalized After Head-On Accident Friday
A Clara City man was taken to the hospital after a head-on accident in Swift County Friday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 22-year-old Travis Jaenisch was driving his pickup westbound on Highway 12 at 7:20 a.m. The investigation shows he fell asleep, crossed the center line and sideswiped a tractor driven by 54-year-old Gary Broesder of Starbuck.
Broesder safely stopped on the south side shoulder, but Jaenisch went on to the west side and struck an eastbound pickup driven by 23-year-old Ryan Beyer. Both trucks then spun on the highway. Jaenisch was ejected and his vehicle came to stop in the westbound lane. Beyer’s vehicle came to halt in the south ditch.
Jaenisch received serious injuries and no other injuries were reported.
