Archived: Five People Arrested on Counterfeiting Charges in Stearns County
Five people were arrested for outstanding arrest warrants near Freeport on Thursday, January 7.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies had a search warrant about a United State currency counterfeiting in the city of New Munich.
The search warrant led to the discovery of several counterfeit bills, electronics, paper products and other items. There were several individual inside the residence at the time of the search who gave authorities false names
Authorities used a fingerprint system to identify the people. Thirty two year old Daniel Peterson, 27-year-old Brittany Jensen, 54-year-old Michael Jensen, 27-year-old Johanna Avery and 43-year-old Richard Penaz were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants.
There were two other people who were left in the residence after the search warrant.
The Melrose Police Department and the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force assisted the sheriff’s office in executing the search.
The investigation is still ongoing.
