Archived: No Hover Boards Allowed On Campus at St. Cloud State University
Following a national trend, St. Cloud State University has banned using hover boards on campus property.
Campus officials sent an email to all students, faculty and staff banning the use of the motorized self-balancing scooter like devices citing safety concerns. There have been news reports of fires, explosions and injuries related to hover boards across the country.
The university says hover boards will not be permitted on campus grounds, buildings, including the dorms. The school says it will review the use of the devices as more consumer research on their safety becomes available.
