Archived: Stearns County Deputy Receives Award For DWI Enforcement

Stearns County Deputy Cody Vojacek has been awarded a hockey stick for making three DWI arrests during a single shift.

Stearns County says Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety Liaison Bob Tirevold presented the award saying that he has been “a machine” during his shifts. This marks the second time Vojacek has been recognized for this award during his two-year tenure with the force, and he has 54 DWI stops so far in 2015.

Stearns County is among the top 25 deadliest counties for drivers in Minnesota. These 25 counties were responsible for 61 percent of the state’s drunk-driving related deaths and 74 percent of the state’s alcohol-related injuries from 2012 to 2014.
