GROVE CITY, Minn. (AP) – Authorities say a woman whose body was found in a drainage ditch in central Minnesota probably drowned.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday identified the woman as 39-year-old Toni Cottrill of Paynesville.

Sheriff Brian Cruze says Cottrill appears to have drowned.

The St. Cloud Times  reports the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a missing person at a home around 4:45 p.m. Monday. Just after 8 p.m., deputies found Cottrill’s body in a ditch about a third of a mile west of the residence.

Authorities say Cottrill was last seen at that residence, which is not where she lives. Investigators are still trying to contact people she may have been with before her death.
