A Kimball woman was issued a citation after striking the door of a squad car Sunday morning.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says Deputy Brian Theisen was completing a traffic stop in the northbound lane of Highway 15 north of Beaver Lake in St. Augusta. When he returned to his patrol and started to close his door, a vehicle driven by 80-year-old Shirley Zipoy crashed the rear edge of the squad’s door with the mirror on the passenger’s side.

Zipoy was issued a citation and no injuries were reported. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and move to another lane if possible when they see flashing lights ahead.
