An Avon man was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound near Holdingford Saturday afternoon.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies responded to a report of a gunshot near County Road 17 in Holding Township shortly after 12:50 p.m. Deputies and first responders found a 23-year-old man who suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his left calf from a revolver.

The victim was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
