The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for St. Cloud, west central and southern parts of Minnesota until 6 p.m. today.

St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says winds will be blowing at 15 to 30 miles per hour with gusts of 40 to 45 miles per hour. The wind is strong enough to pull down some tree branches and shove high profile vehicles along the north side of Highway 23.

Weisman says there will also be some chances of flurries late in the afternoon and early in the evening in St. Cloud.

The Arrowhead region and Lake Superior will see 4-6 inches of snow from late this afternoon to tomorrow morning.
