The Great Theater Company is staging modern pantomime of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this weekend.

The Executive Artistic Director, Dennis Whipple, says it is the first time the company is showing a modern pantomime script. He adds the show is different from its old versions in that it includes songs, slapsticks comedy, dancing and a well-known tale.

Whipple says participants are expected to sing along with some part of the music and shout out phrases to the performers. He says 105 children under age 18 showed up for the audition test. Sixteen of the crew members are returning actors and 19 are new to the stage. The performance will be the fourth year in the row that GREAT has produced shows with a cast of all youth.

The events will be from Friday through Sunday at 7 p.m. with matinees at 2 p.m.
