Archived: National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory For Central Minnesota

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning and advisory for St. Cloud and western parts of Minnesota today.

St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says northwest winds will blow at 35-45 miles per hour with gusts of 55-65 mile per hour. He adds winds are strong enough to pull down some tree branches, power lines as shove high profile vehicles, such as semi trucks, across roads.

Weisman says central and southern part of Minnesota will be under a wind advisory blowing at 30-35 mile per hour with gusts of 50-55 mile per hour until 6 p.m.
