The Stearns County Sheriff’ Office responded to an accident near Richmond early  Thursday morning.

Sheriff John Sanner says deputies received a call about an accident at 18845 Fall Ridge Road in Wakefield Township at 2 a.m. Their investigation proves a car driven by 23-year-old Jonathon David Greene of Richmond was traveling westbound on the road when another car heading eastbound crossed into his lane. Greene swerved off the road to avoid the other car and collided with a tree.

Greene was wearing his seat belt when the airbags deployed during the crash and he was not injured. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
