Drivers in Milaca should be aware of a road closure on Highway 169 starting Monday morning.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the road will be reduced to a single lane from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The northbound direction of Highway 169 will be open from 12-9 p.m. Southbound lanes will be open from 12-8 p.m. Sundays.

The current closure is needed so crews can make temporary crossovers and turn lanes to prepare for seven miles of construction in the spring between Milaca and Onamia.

The project will help Central Minnesota drivers have a smoother ride, wider shoulders and turn lanes, and improve the drainage system.
