A 38-year-old woman died in a multiple car pile-up accident on Interstate 94 Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says four vehicles crashed when they came to a slow down in traffic as they were heading east on the Interstate at County Road 19 in Albertville. The accident happened at 1:30 p.m.

A passenger in one of the vehicles, Erin Bateman from Manitoba was killed at the scene of the accident. 63-year old Douglas Bateman was driving, he and other passengers received injuries as well.

No one else in the other three vehicles was seriously hurt.
