A 23-year-old man from Isle died in a car accident in Stearns County Monday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Jared Haglund died after his car ran into a dump truck, which was stopped to make a turn at the intersection of Highway 23 and County Road 12.

Gary Hemmesch, 41-years-old of Richmond, was driving the dump truck eastbound on Highway 23. He stopped to turn north onto County Road 12 when Haglund’s vehicle rear ended the truck. A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Logan Hebeisen, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital.

The accident was reported at 5:40 p.m. The Cold Spring Police Department, Paynesville ambulance and Chain of Lake Fire and Rescue assisted the state patrol.
