A four-time cancer survivor, pilot and Experimental Aircraft Association member, Jim Davis, plans to fly to St. Cloud Wednesday. This is a change from the original scheduled time due to weather delaying his arrival.

The 74-year-old has dedicated the majority of his life to building airplanes and instructing in ultralights. Davis was recently diagnosed with stage-four liver cancer; since his diagnosis he began an endeavor that has changed the lives of many.

Davis set up a program in which he flies to different states to share plane rides with cancer patients and survivors. Local EAA chapters have helped Davis with various expenses and finding cancer patients to fly with.

His goal is to visit all 48 continental states. Now, he has two states left to visit, Minnesota and North Dakota. Davis will be landing on the St. Cloud Regional Airport runway today in “Purple Passion,” his Savanah XL aircraft.

He will be at the SCSU Hangar at the St. Cloud Regional Airport at 7:00 p.m.
