Archived: St. Cloud Man Hospitalized After Police Say 22-Year-Old Man Ran Red Light

St. Cloud Police cited a Brainerd man for running a red light after an accident that hospitalized a St. Cloud man.

22-year-old Tinodiwa Musemburi was stopped in the left turn lane of southbound Highway 10 waiting turn onto East St. Germain Street, according to St. Cloud Police commander Jeff Oxton.Musemburi was given the green arrow signal and began to make the turn and at the same time 22-year-old Brandon Hoeschen was stopped across the intersection in the northbound inside lane of Highway 10. Hoeschen thought he saw a green light and began to drive straight crashing his truck into Musemburi’s car.

Oxton adds that Hoeschen’s light was actually red when he entered the intersection.

The accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, and Musemburi was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Hoeschen didn’t have any injuries. The citation he received was for violating the red traffic control signal.
