An attempted robbery and a confirmed robbery happened almost two hours apart near the campus of St. Cloud State University.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday St. Cloud police were called to 7th Avenue and 8th Street South. Officers learned that two men tried to rob a 20-year-old man. One suspect showed a weapon and demanded the victim’s belongings while the other suspect claimed to also have a weapon. The victim did not receive any injuries.

Meanwhile, around 4 a.m. the same day a robbery occurred involving two 21-year-old victims who were assaulted by several men. One of the victim’s personal property was taken from him in an alley near the 300 block of 7th Avenue South. Both of the people assaulted were men.

Both cases are still under investigation.
