A 22-year-old man was arrested on charges of felony domestic assault early Sunday morning.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers were called to a report of disorderly complaint at the 1300 block of 11th Avenue North. Officers determined Deshawntrea Oscartrelle Russell was engaged in a physical fight with his 21-year-old fiancé of St. Paul. Burke adds Russell tried to squeeze his fiancé’s throat leading to minor injuries.

Russell was arrested and taken to Stearns County Jail where he is facing charges of felony domestic assault by strangulation.
