A Sauk Rapids man died in a one vehicle accident in the south side of St. Cloud early Saturday morning.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers were called to a report of accident at the intersection of Clearwater Road and 33rd Street South. When officers arrived at the scene, they determined 30-year-old Ross Remington Cameron was driving south in the 3200 block of Clearwater Road. Oxton adds Cameron apparently did not turn at the sharp curve of 33rd Street South. He then hit the curb on the left side of the road and went onto the grassy area striking a tree and rolling over. Cameron died at the scene.

Oxton says the investigation shows speed was a factor and Cameron didn’t have his seat belt fastened at the time of accident. As standard procedures in fatal accidents, the cause of collision and death will be determined through an accident reconstruction and an autopsy by Ramsey County Medical Examiner Office.
