Archived: Lake Wobegon Trail Opens In Time For 2015 Caramel Roll Ride
The Lake Wobegon Trail is officially open after undergoing a major construction project just in time for the 2015 Caramel Roll Ride.
Crews removed crumbling asphalt, laid new asphalt, leveled gravel shoulders and removed weeds.
The new trail will be used Saturday, June 13 for the annual Caramel Roll Ride sponsored by the Lake Wobegon Trail Association. Bikers are invited to ride from Albany to three different destinations either along the northern, eastern or western trails.
Check-in is from 8-10 a.m. and riders will receive refreshments and a free caramel roll. Registration can be done online.
The Lake Wobegon Trail stretches 54 miles in Stearns County and is open for biking, walking and rollerblading in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.
