St. Cloud Police responded to a reported robbery near the St. Cloud State University campus early Friday morning.

Commander Jeff Oxton says the victim, a 22-year-old man from St. Cloud, and two friends were walking home just before 3 a.m. when a black car passed them on 9th Avenue South. The men in the car yelled at the walkers and a few minutes later they appeared on foot in the 600 block of 9th Avenue.

Oxton adds one man from the car punched the victim many times and took some of his personal items, including his cell phone.

The suspects have not been identified, but were recognized from being at the downtown bars earlier that night. One man is described as 25 to 28 years old, white with tattoos, around six feet tall and 200 pounds.
