Archived: St. Cloud Man Hospitalized In A Two-Car Crash Monday
A St. Cloud man was taken to the hospital after a two-car crash on the south side of the city Monday morning.
St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers were called to the intersection of University Drive South and Washington Memorial Drive after a car accident. The investigation shows 86-year-old Herbert Paul Herold was driving westbound on University Drive through the intersection during a green light. A second vehicle, driven by 44-year-old Mohammad Abdi Ahmed of Waite Park, was heading east on University Drive while trying to turn left onto northbound Washington Memorial Drive. Police say Ahmed failed to yield for Herold causing the collision.
Herold was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Ahmed was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.
