Stearns Country is reminding homeowners they are required to pay the first half of their property tax by May 15th.

Stearns County Auditor Treasurer, Randy Schreifels says residents can pay their taxes either in person, online, via e-check or credit card. Automated payments are available and can be deducted from checking or saving accounts. Payments can be made either in a quarterly or 10-month period.

Schreifels says those who like to mail their tax payment must use postmarks available at post offices. Private postage meter machines are not acceptable. Anyone who wants to use check or money orders should include part of their tax payment in their mail.
