St. Cloud State University’s Women’s Center received a $100 check from the St. Cloud Police Department’s Campus Area Police Services, or CAPS.

The CAPS team was awarded the check from the St. Cloud Optimist Club last fall and then donated the money to the Women’s Center. CAPS Officer Dan McClure says work to stop domestic violence should be at the forefront. McClure knows the Women’s Center has needs for educational and training materials and could benefit from the extra funding.

Three police officers who work the Southside campus area makeup the CAPS team. The CAPS program is possible through an agreement between the city of St. Cloud and St. Cloud State.
