A Sauk Rapids man was arrested on charges of burglary in the sixty two undred block of County Road 120 Saturday night.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers received a report of burglary just after 11:20 p.m. The caller described a man trying to break into a garage unit of the complex. When officers arrived at the scene, they identified a man matching the description given by the caller. 31-year-old Michael Knettel tried walk away when he saw officers, which led to his arrest.

The investigation shows Knettel had broken into several garages using screw drivers. He was in possession of screw drivers, drug paraphernalia and a substance which tested positive for marijuana. Knettel was taken to the Stearns County Jail facing charges of 3rd degree burglary, criminal damage to property, possession of burglary tools, a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
