Archived: Maple Syrup Event At Kraemer Lake Ushers In Spring
As spring is beginning to emerge in central Minnesota, a local park is hosting a unique event. Stearns County’s Kraemer Lake/Wildwood County park is hosting a tour of a maple syrup operation which uses modern technology to collect sap and make maple syrup. 16,000 gallons of sap collected from 600 trees and 1,200 taps are put into a wood-fired evaporator and turned into 400 gallons of pure maple syrup.
An open house tour of the operations is being held on Saturday, March 28th from 1- 4 p.m. at Kraemer Lake/Wildwood Park located at 29709 Kipper Road in St. Joseph. The sight is off County Rd. 51 two miles west of town.
