A St. Cloud man was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital after being assaulted in a residence on the south side area early Saturday morning.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers were sent to the 800 block of 7th Street South in connection with an assault incident. When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the suspect, 36-year-old Jamel Erwin Walker assaulted a 30-year-old man of St. Cloud with a knife during an argument. The victim received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Walker was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail where he was held on charges of 2nd degree assault.
