Two Big Lake women were seriously injured after a car accident on Highway 25 and 200th St. Thursday afternoon.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident occurred when 88-year-old Betty Thielen of Big Lake was driving northbound on Highway 25 in the left turn lane to County Road 75. At the same time 19-year-old Klara Porath along with 56-year-old Kim Porath were driving southbound on Highway 25.
Thielen failed to yield through traffic when making a left turn and broadsided Porath causing severe damage to both vehicles. As a result, they were both towed and everyone was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Theilen and Kim Porath had serious injuries while Klara Porath was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
