Archived: American Red Cross Volunteers To Help Individuals Dealing With Fire Damage

American Red Cross volunteers are assisting the victims of last week’s home fires in Bethel, Big Lake and Hoffman.

A total of 6 adults and 4 children were affected in three separate house fires that happened between February 11th and 18th. Regional communication officer Carrie Carlson-Guest says volunteers visit the victims to make sure they have appropriate shelter, clothing and food. She says they will also give out their emotional support and come up with long-term recovery plans.

Carlson-Guest adds American Red Cross is comprised of volunteers whose assistance prevents and decreases suffering in the face of emergency.
