A man was arrested on charges of felony stalking Friday night in the Lake George area.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers were called to the 500 block of 9th Avenue South in connection with a stalking and burglary report. After police arrived to the area, they learned 27-year-old Gilbert Samson Garcia had been stalking a female acquaintance and entered her house without permission while threatening another person in the house with a knife.

Garcia had left the house before the officers arrived, but they located him around the area of Lake George just after midnight. Oxton says Garcia fled from officers on foot which led to a chase and finally his arrest.

Garcia was taken to the Stearns County jail waiting for court on charges of felony stalking, 1st degree burglary, 2nd degree assault, 5th degree controlled substance and fleeing from police on foot.
