A solidarity rally will be held Wednesday night on the St. Cloud State University campus due to the grand jury’s most recent decision in Ferguson, Missouri involving the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

SCSU’s Director of Chicana Chicano Studies Miguel Chavez says the event is a reaction to the jury’s verdict. Chavez invites students and staff to take part in the rally, which begins at 5 p.m. in Atwood Mall East outside the Atwood Memorial Center.

The rally is followed by break-out sessions involving workshops, presentations, panel discussions, and legal advice.

The event is hosted by the Social Responsibility Student Organization.
