Archived: Avon Man Injured After Colliding With UPS Semi
One man is recovering after a crash involving a United Parcel Service semi-tractor.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies were called to County Road 75 at the intersection of County Road 3 in St. Joseph Township just before 10 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies say a car driven by 34-year-old Gerard Hansen of Avon was travelling eastbound on County Road 75 behind a UPS semi with a double trailer driven by 42-year-old Larry Read of Buffalo. Both vehicles were attempting to stop for a red light near County Road 3 but Hansen was not able to stop in time and collided with the rear end of the semi.
Hansen was taken by ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital. Deputies believe road conditions were a factor in the crash.
