The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather storm warning through midday Tuesday.

St. Cloud State University Meteorology Professor Bob Weisman says there is a potential for six-ten inches of snow in St. Cloud Little Falls, Mille Lacs Lake and Onamia.

St. Cloud State University has cancelled day and night classes as 12 p.m. Monday.  Some school districts in Minnesota are canceling classes as the first major winter storm of the season arrives. St. Cloud Area Schools, Albany, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Sartell are among the schools closed Monday because of winter’s first reminder could deposit more than a foot of snow in some areas according to the Associated Press.

Weisman says the heaviest snowfall will be through the Minnesota River Valley, Willmar, Litchfield and Twin Cities area. He says the snow is relatively fluffy coupled with winds in the twenties means very low visibility through most of tomorrow for the St. Cloud area.

Weisman forecasts the snow to wrap-up after midnight Tuesday.
