Archived: SCSU To Host Webcast, Viewing Of Partial Solar Eclipse
The St. Cloud State University Planetarium will be hosting a live webcast and public viewing event of the partial solar eclipse on Thursday.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy led by assistant professor of physics Todd Vaccaro and observatory director David Williams will be managing the webcast of the eclipse captured by the solar telescope on the roof of the Wick Science Building on the SCSU campus.
The moon will be passing between the Sun and the Earth between 4:22 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. Thursday with prime viewing of the partial eclipse taking place at 5:35 p.m.
The public viewing will be held in the planetarium located in the basement of the Wick Science Building in which faculty will be on hand to describe the partial eclipse. A second room will be available in the case of overflow.
