More than $3,000 was found by a Stearns County deputy along County Road 3 Friday afternoon.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says a deputy was on patrol heading north on County Road 3 in Brockway Township when he saw money being blown around in the breeze. The deputy stopped to investigate and found a total $3,010 which matched the amount printed on a bank slip also discovered at the scene.

Sanner adds information on the bank slip helped the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office identify the owner of the money. After verifying amounts with the bank, deputies contacted the owner who picked up the cash on Saturday.
