Archived: Collegeville House Fire Late Thursday Night Causes $50,000 In Damage
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Cold Spring and Rockville Fire Departments were all called to a house fire in Collegeville Township late Thursday night.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 27-year-old Kristen Moncrief, from Cold Spring, called 911 just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Moncrief says she heard a loud noise then the house on 14124 264th Street in Collegeville began to fill with smoke.
Sheriff Sanner says Moncrief and her cat were able to escape the fire safely, but her dog wasn’t able to make it out and died of smoke inhalation.
The Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office was called to assist in the investigation of the house fire. An exact cause of the fire is not known at this time, but the fire is believed to have started somewhere on the lower level.
The damage to house is estimated at $50,000.
