The Minnesota Environment and Natural Resouces Trust Fund will provide over $600,000 to landowners in the Avon Hills to help conserve the environment.

With help from the Avon Hills Initiative, St. John’s University will be aiding in the efforts of preserving the area.

Including much of Collegeville and Avon townships west of St. Cloud, Avon Hills is considered one of the highest areas of biological diversity in central Minnesota by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. 

Landowners can decide how much budget they need to preserve the environment.

The final decision is expected to be made by December 9.
