The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force carried out a search warrant this morning that found information of a medium size marijuana grow happening behind farm buildings at the address of 40325 County Road 11 near Freeport.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanners says, during the search, investigators found the owner of the property, 51-year-old Trent Atkinson of Freeport, and approximately 36 plants being tended to and cultivated in a fenced area. The plants ranged in size from 6 to 12 feet high and were taken by the task force as evidence.

Sanner adds that the matter will be sent to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges of 5th degree possession of a controlled substance.
