An exotic animal sighting took quite the interesting twist.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says deputies were called to Ptarmigan Drive in Rockville just before noon on Thursday. They were responding to a caller who spotted what appeared to be an alligator while mowing his lawn in the swampy area near his house.

Deputies approached the alligator, but noticed it didn’t seem to move. Upon further investigation, deputies found the two foot alligator to be a plastic toy.

According to Sanner, the alligator toy was safely removed from the area.
